About Community for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing |
This site was founded in 2008 and named I Am Hearing Impaired. In late fall of 2010, the name was changed to DeafandHoH.
The goal is to help people interact with others and learn from others of all ages and hearing loss levels. This site focuses on social networking, resources, medical research and technology. Below are some of the features within the site to better serve the deaf and hard of hearing community:
Open Chat Night
The chat room is open to those who are deaf or hard of hearing, audiologists, teachers, ASL Interpreters, students and anyone else who would like to attend. We have weekly chats that takes place on Wednesday nights (8 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST). Each week will have an opening topic posted in the blog, but the conversation is not limited to the topic and we encourage free and open communication.
